FREE COMMUNITY EVENT - Special Effects Makeup Demonstration 09.05.2025 (Downtown San Marcos)
The Challenge: Promote a volunteer special effects makeup demonstration on a condensed timeline (less than two weeks) using a rapid social media strategy, all while coordinating content creation across multiple artists and video assets.
Timeline Constraint: The project required full social media strategy and execution on a fast timeline—a challenge not unlike managing logistics on a fast-paced film set or corporate office.
Skill Integration: The solution demanded combining existing film skills (continuity, on-set support) with new digital tools (mastering the Instagram Edits app for the first time).
The Team: Coordinated efforts with SFX artist Jason Zentner, event videographer Ven Scott, and model Brannigan Goguen.
Content Production Flow: Converted raw footage into more than a dozen posts in just 10 days, ensuring continuity and consistency across all platforms. Here, you can see some of the posts that got the most engagement. Audiences LOVED hearing about Jason's gelatin-based burn prosthetic.
Systemic Approach: Used skills in inventory management and continuity to manage all digital assets (photos, video clips, and captions), creating a seamless content pipeline. I personally shot & edited these videos before assisting Jason with the schedule & uploads.
The Measurable Results: This focused, 10-day strategy yielded significant, measurable returns, proving that digital campaigns thrive on operational clarity.
Audience Growth: SFX Makeup Artist Jason Zentner's Instagram following grew by over 16% in that short window.
